Types Of QUALITATIVE Data Flashcards
Types of QUALITATIVE data
Nominal
Ordinal
data is made up of values that are distinguished by name only.
NOMINAL
It represents qualitative attributes or characteristics that cannot be quantified numerically.
NOMINAL
Examples: gender, civil status, ethnicity, hair color etc.
NOMINAL
data that is placed in a specific order.
ORDINAL
Example: Likert scale responses (e.g., strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, strongly disagree), educational attainment (e.g., high school diploma, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree)
ORDINAL
data is similar to ordinal level data in that it has a definite ordering scheme, but the differences between data is meaningful and can be
measured.
INTERVAL
there is no true zero point
INTERVAL
Example: Temperature measured in Celsius orFahrenheit. Calendar dates (e.g., years, months, days)
INTERVAL
include properties from all four
scales of measurement.
RATIO
The data is nominal and defined by
an identity, can be classified in order, contains intervals and can be broken down into exact value.
RATIO
True zero
RATIO
Example: weight, height and distance
RATIO
Types of continuous data
