Types of muscle Flashcards
Muscle
A group of cells that are specialized for shape change due to motor proteins (ex. myosin) that are specialized to move along other proteins (cytoskeleton).
Specialized in generating forces
Properties of Muscle Tissue
Contract, excitable, extensible, elastic, heat
Three types of muscle in humans
Skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, smooth muscle
Skeletal Muscle
Striated, multinucleate, not graded
Cardiac Muscle
Striated, uninucleate, graded
Smooth Muscle
Not striated, uninucleate, graded
Autonomic Pathways

Somatic Pathways
Target: Skeletal muscle
