Evaluate Tulvings research on LTM stores

A

Supporting evidence - Patient HM - Hippocampus removed, couldn’t form episodic or semantic memories but could form procedural memories(tested through mirror drawing)

Too reliant on case studies - difficult to say that a damaged area causes specific problems e.g. area may be acting as a relay

Brain scans show each LTM store is located in different areas - Episodic = hippocampus. Semantic = temporal lobe. Procedural = cerebellum
