Types Of Feedback Flashcards
Define intrinsic feedback, give positives and negatives
Feedback from an internal source; allows adjustments to be made, good for autonomous performers, cognitive learners struggle because they don’t know what good feels like (lack kinaesthesia)
Define extrinsic feedback, give positives and negatives
Feedback from an external source, can be concurrent (during) or terminal (after). Identify strengths and weaknesses, great for cognitive learners, increase confidence and motivation. Can be demotivating, performers can become over reliant and feedback could be incorrect.
Define positive feedback, give positives and negatives.
Makes stimulus-response (S-R) bonds stronger. Good for cognitive and autonomous learners, increase motivation/confidence. Performers can become over reliant.
Define negative feedback, give positives and negatives.
Makes S-R bonds weaker. Bad for cognitive (demotivational), good for autonomous, can decrease confidence and motivation.
Define knowledge of performance
Feedback about the performance/process (intrinsic and extrinsic, concurrent and terminal)
Define knowledge of results
Feedback about the outcome/objective (win/lose, score/miss). Terminal
