Conformity is the process of yielding to majority influence.

what does compliance mean?
the shallowest level of conformity,where a person goes along with others while in public,but does not change their private beliefs.
it occurs due to normative social influence and the behaviour stops once the group pressure is no longer there
what is identification?
when a person changes their behaviours and private belief to those of a group that they value and want to be part of. However, the change only lasts for as long as they continue
what is internalisation ?
the deepest level of conformity where a person changes their public and private beliefs. this is usually long term change due to informative social influence.
becoming a vegetarian because your university friends do, but eating again once your home is, what type of conformity?
