What Is Compliance?
‘Going along with others’ in public. but NOT changing PERSONAL opinions internally or privately. Could be to fit in.
An example: agreeing with an opinion that hip hop is better than jazz when secretly disagreeing.

What Is Identification?
When a person changes their public behaviour and private beliefs only when with the group.
An example: Teens may change their style of clothing/ interests to match those in the group, but have a different style/interest when not with the group.
What Is Internalisation?
When a person genuinely accepts the groups norms both in public and private.
An example: Jennys group are vegetarians, she did research and agrees that eating meat is wrong.
