Types of Acts Flashcards
How many acts (transactions) are there
9 including three sub transactions
Simple
one person can accomplish the act (one will, single document)
Collegial
several physical persons belonging to a single unit can accomplish the act (one will of a collective, single document)
Multiple act
the will of ONE person or group resulting in one document directed at many persons/groups (one will - single or collective, a series of original documents or multiple originals)
Contract
power depends on two or more named parties (individual motivations may be different, the will to accomplish the act is one)
Collective
identical will to produce the act, but of many different persons or organizations; the act is recorded in ONE document
Compound Act
the final execution of a compound act depends on a series of acts of any of the previous types and their related documents
Continuative Acts
the same individual/group must manifest the same will multiple times (e.g. city council must pass a motion multiple times)
Complex Acts
multiple individuals/groups undertake a series of simple (collegial) identical acts in order to accomplish a final act
Acts on procedure
the final act is the result of a series of acts of any type, by any number of individuals/groups with different motivations or wills but all directed at the accomplishment of the final act
