What is a taxonomy?
A taxonomy is a structured classification system that organizes information, concepts, or
objects into categories based on their similarities, relationships, and hierarchical structure.
Why is a taxonomy of information systems useful?
-Clarifies IT’s role: Helps organizations understand how different technologies impact
processes
-Guide IT investments: Ensures businesses select the right IT for their needs
-Improves adoption strategies: Different IT types require different management
approaches for success
Managers are ill-equipped (Results + solution)

Complements
