How should you frame a consultation?

A
  • “How can i help”
  • “Tell me more about this”
  • “Any other symptoms related to this that you are worried about”
  • ICE - “do you have any ideas what it could be”, “do you have any other concerns”, “what were you hoping to get from today?”
  • Adress red flags if they are appropriate to do so and ask more focussed questions now.
  • Examinations
  • Management plan

  • Does anything make it worse
  • Doies anything make it better
  • Exercise tolerance?
  • Heart failure (worse when lying down) and MI (radiating pain, nausea vomiting ), chest infection (fever, productive cough,wheeze)
