Before you begin

-cc beginning script
-gather supplies on clean surface
-wash hands and put on gloves
-check body alignment
-ask C ti remove bed covering
-remove any pillows

Moving the C

Answer 3

-ask C assist with bending their knees or crossing their leg farthest from you over the other leg
-place one hand in C shoulder and one on hip
-gently roll C towards you on count of three
-check how C is feeling

Question 4

Repositioning C

Answer 4

-support C with one hand in the shoulder and use your free hand to put a pillow or supportive device behind their back (pillow must be rolled and tucked behind back)
-allow C to roll back on to pillow
-place pillow under C head
-Place towel beneath C arm and bed
-have C hug pillow to chest
-bend C top knee forward and place pillow between C legs

Checking C safety

-does C feel any pressure?
-make sure C is not too close to edge of bed
-ask if C would like covers replaced
-check body alignment
