Two categories of tuberculosis
Latent TB infection

Tuberculosis (TB Disease)
Mantoux TB Skin Test, performed by injecting a small amount of purified derivative (PPD) under the skin on a forearm.
Tuberculin Skin Test (TST)
Interferon Gamma Release Assay, which measures how strongly a person’s immune system reacts to specific TB antigens.
Tuberculosis Blood Test
Types of drug-resistant TB
Multidrug-resistant TB (MDR TB)
Extensively Drug-resistant TB (XDR TB)
Bacteria that is resistant to at least isoniazid and rifampin.
Multidrug-resistant TB
Rare type of multidrug resistant TB that is resistant to isoniazid and rifampin, plus any fluoroquinolone and at least one of the three injectable second-line drugs.
Extensively Drug-resistant TB
