Tube Rating Flashcards
1
Q
What is x-ray Tube Rating?
A
Maximum allowable input parameters that can be applied without damaging the tube.
2
Q
Four basic factors of tube rating
A
- Focal spot size
- Anode Speed
- Target Angle
- Electrical current (wave forms)
3
Q
Tube rating maximum exposure variables
A
kVp and mA
4
Q
Damage from excessive mA and kVp
A
Tube overload = excess heat
5
Q
When kVp is too low, it causes tube saturation. What does this include?
A
Electron build up on glass (arcing and glass failure)
6
Q
Maximum allowable input parameters that can be applied without damaging the tube
A
Tube Rating
7
Q
What is x-ray tube arcing?
A
Temporary short circuit that causes loss of x-ray output.
8
Q
Temporary short circuit that causes loss of x-ray output (this happens from electron build up on glass)
A
Arcing
