- For all Christians except tephe Quakers and the Salvation Ar,t, baptism is a sign of initiation through which a person becomes a member of the church and a child of God
- Jesus ordered his apostles to baptise all of his followers. Jesus himself was baptised by John the Baptist
- Through baptism a person enters the life of the trinity. They become a child of the Father, join in with Jesus’ death and resurectiom and filled with holy spirit

- The catholic church describes prayer as ‘raising the heart and mind to god’
- Traditional prayers have set words that have been used by generations of believers, they are fimilar words aimed towards god
- Spontaneous prayers are made up in the moment. Some people prefer them because they feel like a more personal and sincere way of communicating with god.

- Physical postures can assist prayer and help to show the intention behind the prayer
- Some posture emphasise respect and humility, some the praise of God, and some asking for gods help.
