- Only then can the consent be made
- Same sex marriage are not recognised as valid in the eyes of the catholic church, as they do not allow for the acceptance of children from God.

- The Church teaches that marriage is a valuable commitment that can strengthen over time
- The Church disagrees with cohabitation, although many people believe it is acceptable

- Many people disagree with the Churchs view on artifical contraception, for both family planning and health reasons.

- The Catholic Church believes that people play different roles within a family, with the purpose of working together to produce a harmonious whole
- The church encourages families to be founded on the marriage between a man and a women

- The Bible was written during times when men were perceived as superior to women
- However, women play a very important role in the bible and the early Christian Church
- The Genesis stories show that men and women were created as equals

- The Catholic Church believes in the equality of mennand women, as God made both in his image and likeness
- God gave men and women differences but when they unite in marriage, they create a natural bond that strengthens and completes them as individuals and as a couple

- The attitude that women are superior to men or men to women is gender prejudice. This might come from sterotypes like men or women behaving in a certain way due to their gender
- The Church does not accept gender discrimination, although some people say that the Churchs view on the different roles women and men can lead to gender discrimination
