  • The main features of a Catholic church include the lecturn, altar, crucfix and tabernacle
  • These help to emphasise the presence of Christ in the church. They also remind Catholics of the redemption that Christ brought them through his suffering, death and resurrection.

4.3 Contradting features and artefacts used by Catholics

  • Some churches use an alter for the Mass, as a reminder of Christs sacrafice on the cross, whole other churches use a table, as a reminder of the Last Supper.
  • Some Catholics prefer the crucifix as a reminder of christ’s death, while others prefer a cross or Risen christ as a reminder of Chrsit’s resurrection.
