Trilaminar Embryo Flashcards
What is the primary inducer in the early embryo?
The notochord
What is the allantois and what does it become?
An outpouching of the yolk sac in the caudal wall. It helps develop the urinary bladder
What overlies the notochord and what does the notochord induce this to become?
Ectoderm. It is induced to become the neural plate, then the neural tube, then eventually the CNS
Name the three sections of intraembryonic mesoderm and what each becomes
Paraxial (Somites), Intermediate (Urogenital), Lateral Plate (Limbs and Body Wall)
What do the somites develop into?
Vertebrae, Muscles of back, Skin
What does the intraembryonic coelom develop into?
Peritoneal cavity, pleural cavities, pericardial cavity
