Name the 9 abdominal regions starting in the upper right and moving right to left, top to bottom
Right hypochondrium, Epigastric, Left hypochondriac, Right flank, Umbilical, Left flank, Right inguinal, Pubic, Left inguinal
What is McBurneys point and where is it?
Typical site of tenderness in appendicitis, it is 1/3 of the way from ASIS to umbilicus
The inguinal ligament runs from where to where?
ASIS to pubic tubercle
What are the three borders of the inguinal triangle?
1) Inferior epigastric vessels running from inguinal ligament toward umbilicus, 2) Inguinal ligament, 3) Lateral edge of rectus abdominus (semilunate line)
What are the two main functions of mesentary?
To bring vessels to and from, and to provide mobility
What three structures form the portal triad of the liver?
Portal vein, hepatic artery, bile duct
Two strategies for connecting donor liver to recipient parts in liver transplant and why the second is used
1) Duct to duct, 2) Duct to intestine - used if donor and recipient duct cant be connected
