Flagellate is found in:
- women: Vagina
- men: epididymis, urethra, vas deferens, prostate gland

What are the symptoms of those infected with Trichomonas vaginalis?
A
-Vaginitis
-Burning sensation
-Thick yellow discharge
-Vulvar/vaginal erythema (redness)
(80% infected women symptomatic and all males usually asymptomatic)

How would I diagnose a patient with Trichomonas vaginalis?
A
-Finding trophozoites in urine or vaginal discharge

What is the treatment for Trichomonas vaginalis?
A
Metronidazole (Flagyl)
-Treat sexual partners simultaneously
