Describe the life cycle of Enterobius vermicularis.
- females migrate to the anus to lay their eggs (female dies releasing more eggs).
- Eggs mature quickly (few hours) into an infective L3 stage in caecum.
- Eggs have a diagnostically identifiable flattened side.
- Prevalent in crowded communities, amongst children and those with poor hygiene.
