What is trench foot?
Trench foot is when your feet get frostbite caused by standing in muddy trenches that are full of water. Trench foot often led to having to get your feet amputated. People prevented trench foot by changing socks regularly, rubbing whale oil on their feet and wearing water proof foot wear.
What was the layout of trenches like?
Trenches were dug into the ground and sometimes had sandbags on the walls. A few nicer trenches had wood slats on the floors to make it easier to run. Trenches also had a bar wire fence in front of them to protect them.

Shock is similar to post traumatic stress. Some of the symptoms of shell shock include foaming of the mouth, uncontrollable shivering and losing control of one body.
What were the three trenches?
The first was the front trench. The second was the support trench. The third was the reserve trench.
