What were the condition like for soldiers? (3pts)

A

Very bad, they were exposed to weather(1916-1917 the cold winter caused frostbites.

-Trench foot was caused by flooded trenches. The skin on the feet had broken down, becoming gangrenous.
(This was cured from changing socks!)

-Also the dirty water spread disease

-Trench fever spread by body lice, which takes twelve weeks to recover

how did Mustard Gas Affect soldiers?

A

-caused breathing problems
[which develops lung infections]
-ate away at body from the inside
-it could take up to five weeks for patient to die

A

a mild scented colourless gas. which makes soldiers suffocate.
(these symptoms would take up to 24 hours to settle in)

A

by being exposed to death and artillery bombing. which caused phycological illness on soldiers. such as shell shock

A

where an soldiers would mentally breakdown and experience hearing loss. due to the explosions shocking the central nervous system. which created brain damage
