1. Resting tremor: Parkinson’s disease
2. Action or postural tremor: benign essential tremor, senile tremor, physiological, anxiety/ emotional, hyperthyroidism, alcohol, drugs and drug withdrawal, phaeochromocytoma
3. Intention tremor: cerebellar disease
4. Flapping tremor: metabolic tremor eg Wilson’s disease, hepatic encephalopathy
