What was the Treaty of Versailles?
A series of restrictions and sanctions imposed on Germany for there role in the war
What land related terms did they face?
They had to give up all colonies (13% of land was removed)
The Saar was given to France for 15 years
Poland was given the corridor to the sea
Why did the loss of land have such a big impact on Germany?
It created money issues – since lots of industry and agriculture was removed.
Many were also angry as they thought German land and
people had been stolen.
