30 mg/kg x1, or 10 mg/kg days 1,2,3 or 10 mg/kg →5 mg/kg d2-d5
Dose of Cefdinir in AOM?
14 mg/kg/day (div q12-24h)
Dose of Cefpodoxime in AOM?
10 mg/kg/day (div q12h)
Dose of ceftriaxome in AOM?
50 mg/kg IM or IV q once or x3

Which drugs are NOT USED in ABS
Macrolides/azalides (S. pneumoniae resistance)
TMP-SMX (S. pneumoniae, H. influenzae resistance)

nd and 3rd generation oral cephalosporins
What can you do for severe ABS requiring hospitalization?
Ampicillin-sulbactam 1.5-3 gm IV q6h
Ceftriaxone 1-2 gm IV q12-24h
Cefotaxime 2 gm IV q4-6h
