Airline Alliance

Apron
The entire tarmac area outside the terminal building used for embarkation and disembarkation.
Ramp
The entire tarmac area outside the terminal building used for embarkation and disembarkation.
Airside
The passenger and cargo area of the airport beyond customs and immigration. Access is restricted to employees who hold security passes and arriving/departing passengers
Aircraft Dispatcher
The person responsible for the aircraft before departure and after arrival
Air Pocket
A region of low pressure that can cause an aircraft to lose height suddenly
Auxiliary Power Unit
An additional source of power built into the aircraft
APU

Altitude
The height of an aircraft above sea level.
Ambulift
A vehicle used to transport disabled/special needs passengers to and from the aircraft
Assist Space
A defined area at each emergency door which is allocated for Cabin Crew to stand in for the purpose of evacuating passengers during an emergency situation without causing obstruction to the exit
Attestation
A certificate confirming completion of Cabin Crew Initial Safety Training
Brace Position
A position adopted when seated by all cabin crew members and passengers in the event of an emergency landing. The position helps to minimise injuries, which result from body movements.
Bustle
Slide/slide raft stowage box at the base of main aircraft doors
Bowser
Refuelling vehicle
Block Time
The entire time the plane in in motion
Customs
Officials who controls the import and export of taxable items in any country
Carrier

Cruising Height
The height at which the aircraft is level
Cabin Altitude
Pressure inside the aircraft cabin
Consolidator
A Travel Agent or Company that sells discounted fares on scheduled Airlines
Code Share
When two airlines share the same flight there will be two different flight numbers however they will both share the same aircraft.
Consul
A government official, stationed in a foreign country who represents the interests of the nationals of the represented country when they are in the foreign country
