Travel Flashcards
How often do you take a trip?
Unfortunately, because of my job, I don’t have much time for long trips so I only go on day trips to the countryside once or twice a month because Short trips are less tiring and easier to plan for.
-Where do you usually stay when you go on holiday?
I prefer a hotel that has easy access to sights but these hotels are expensive so I choose the best-located budget accommodation specially for long trips so I can spend more money on
Entertainment and fun activities.
Do you prefer to travel by plane or train?
Well, I think it depends on the situation. I prefer the train for short trips since it is much cheaper and a great way to enjoy the landscape however for longer trips I choose the Plains because of their comfort and speed obviously.
Do the people in your country prefer to travel abroad or within your country?
I think most people would rather travel overseas since they are drawn to the charm of experiencing different cultures that are distinct from their own so they are seeking new and unfamiliar adventures which they cannot find in their own country.
- Is air travel popular in your country?
Definitely, airplanes are a common means of domestic and international travel among the people of my country mostly because of their comfort and speed. There is also excellent in-flight entertainment and cabin crew who help and take care of passengers during the flight. Not to mention the advanced security system of airlines which makes air travel the safest transportation.
-Where do tourists stay when they visit your hometown?
Hotels are still the best travel accommodation for many tourists. Where I live there are hotels available to suit all budgets since some travellers only need a place to crash at night. While for others, staying in a 5 star hotel is one of the most important aspects of their vacation.
Describe a trip that did not go as planned.
I have to acknowledge that I’m a nature lover and I seas any chance to get out of civilization and go to the countryside where I can enjoy peace and quiet
The story that I’m going to talk about happened about a year ago when I decided to visit a southern village which was famous for its unique wild nature. So me and my friend decided to stay there for a week. The first two days were amazing we took a long walk through dense forests and we camped next to a river and spent the night there in the morning we headed back to the village and everything was according to plan
There are always times when things get out of control and don’t turn out as your expectations
After we arrived we went to buy groceries at the pretty crowded supermarket and that was when my wallet got stolen the worst part is that I didn’t notice that until our next tour began to start and I didn’t have any money or identification. So I missed the tour and didn’t know where to look out. I even went back to the supermarket but the video of the thief that was recorded by cameras was unclear and unrecognizable. The tour leader and my friend were so kind and supportive but there were some important documents in my wallet so I had to get help from the local police but it ended to nothing but spending most of my time in a police station. But this story doesn’t change my opinion about the village and I like to go back there another time only this time I will be more careful and try to make the best memory.
