A bilateral auto-immune inflammation of the eyes following penetrating injury to one eye
What damage to alkaline burns do to the eye?
Rapid penetration
Cicatrising changes to conjunctiva and cornea
Penetrates the intra-ocular structures
What damage do acidic burns do to the eye?
Coagulate proteins
Don’t easily penetrate
