Q

Example of Secondary Active Transport:

-Glucose wants to come into cell. Glucose uses sodium to do this (sodium as energy). Glucose and sodium coming into cell.

This occurs in?

A

Sodium Co-transport of Glucose

Kidney and small intestines

Q

Pumping sodium ion into cell to get calcium or hydrogen ions out of cell.

-Occurs in the kidney (proximal convoluted tubule). When we want to reabsorb bicarb, we pump a hydrogen out, it bonds to bicarb and produces water and carbon dioxide. Sodium comes in and that is where we get the energy to kick that hydrogen out.

A
