PPE: Fitted N95 Respirator
i. MTV = Measles (Rubeola), Tuberculosis and Varicella (Chicken Pox & Herpes Zoster/Shingles)
ii. COVID
iii. Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)
Contact: PPE & Pathogens
PPE - Gloves and Gown
i. Clostridium difficile (C-Diff)
1. C Diff requires hand washing w/ water
and soap, and disinfecting surfaces and equipment w/
bleach
ii. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
iii. Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (VRE)
iv. extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)
Droplet: PPE & Pathogens
PPE: Surgical Mask
i. Influenza (Flu)
ii. Mumps
iii. Meningitis
iv. Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
v. Streptococcus (Strep Throat)
vi. German Measles (Rubella)
Airborne: Patient placement & Transport
Placement:
- Isolated in a private, negative pressure room
- At least 12 air exchanges per hour; keep doors closed
Tr0ansport:
- Do not transport patient unless necessary, patient wears surgical mask
Contact: Patient placement and transport
Placement:
- Private room or cohort
- Dedicated patient equipment is preferred
Transport:
- Limit patient transport
