-Located in San Antonio, TX at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland
Purpose of BMT is to transition
-BMT is a culmination of many types of culture, regions of people and blended gender training
Provides foundation of AF
-Becoming an Airman isn’t an overnight process. The training provided will guide the trainees through the basics and mold them into Airman
Instills independence, discipline, and confidence
- Focus on one who is a “Warrior first”
- -Goal is to instill a warrior mindset in trainees from day 1 in order to better prepare them for the AF
Similar to Vo-Tech schools but free
-Every AF Specialty has a technical training school
Accredited through CCAF
- All courses earn credits through the CCAF based on the length and scope of the course
- Training is recognized & desired by civilian organizations
Offers over 150+ career options
-Technical training has over 150 career fields & over 40 different specialties
OJT available in all careers
- Planned training designed to expand what Airman learned in their technical training with experienced supervisors and keeps them up to date on changes in the career field
- Formal & Informal Methods of Training
- Refresher Courses and In-Service Training Available. Example-EMT recertification training for a 4N0X1
All career requirements funded by AF
-The training is provided by the AF and free of charge to the member
