Deep draft vessels transitting through the area N and S to/from berths at terminal facilities in Elliot bay. E and W waterways and to/from shipyards at harbor island and Bremerton.
2) tug and tows
N and S through puget sound, through rich pass, assisting vsls to/from shipyards at harbor island and Bremerton
3) tug with log rafts
N and S through puget sound and in/out of the west waterway
4) naval Vessels
Of all sizes to/from Bremerton in Sinclair inlet, to/from torpedo range in port orchard
5) WSF
Between Winslow and Seattle, Bremerton and Seattle , Fauntleroy Vashon and Seattle
6) Pleasure craft
To/from all marinas at smith cove, dyes inlet, Sinclair inlet, port orchard and eagle hrb. Numerous pleasure boats can be found transiting area especially on nice days
7) commercial fishing boat
Can be Found anywhere during openings
8) cross traffic
Cross traffic is considerable mainly but not limited to WSF described above
9) caution rich passage
Because of activities of the puget sound naval shipyard, has large volume of traffic. Many ferries a day each way, tugs with hawser tows, and various types of naval craft all contribute to create a considerable collision hazard in the passage particularly at the sharp bend off point glover. Vsls approaching Pt. Glover for either direction should sound one prolonged blast when within .5 miles of the point as a warning to any vsl approaching from opposite direction
