Anchorages Flashcards
1) general anchorages
There are five general anchorages on these chartlets. Prior permission from the captain of the port is required to anchor in a general anchorage. No Vessel shell occupy any general anchorage Longer than 30 days, unless a permit is obtained from the captain of the port.
2) smith cove West
Offshore four mile rock to the west edge of Smith Cove. Depths range between 60 feet to 400feet with mud bottom. Start at 4 mile rock, 207 for .5nm then 124 for 1.66nm then 000 to beach.
4)Elliot bay west
From west edge of the west waterway offshore to Duwamish head Lt. Depths range from 60 feet to over 300feet with a Mud bottom. Boundaries start at Duwamish hd Lt the 090 for 1nm then 180 for .4nm then 270 to beach
5) Elliot bay east
Quarantine anchorage north of harbor island depths range from 60ft and 200ft with mud bottom. Boundaries start at west side the east waterway 000 for .5nm then 0270for .5nm then 180 to the beach.
6) orchard point
Bounded by orchard pt to the west and Blake island to the east. Depths range from 60ft to over 300ft with mud and sand bottom. Boundaries 106 for 2nm then 180 to Blake island then south blake island 250 to beach
7) cautions
Mariners are cautioned against anchoring in the vicinity of charter pipelines and cable areas
8) small craft anchorages
Multiple small craft anchorages including eagle hrb (30-39ft mud bottom) Blakely hrb ( 54-96ft sticky bottom ) fletcher bay( 12ft mud bottom)
3) smith cove east
SE of smith cove. Depths range between 60ft to over 300ft with mud and sand bottom. Boundary start pier 90 then 180 for .65 nm then 090 to beach.
