Fomepizole; inhibits alcohol dehydrogenase which inhibits conversion of ethylene glycol to oxalic acid and glycolic acid
How does cyanide toxicity present?
Flushing, headache, AMS, seizures, coma, arrhythmias, tachypnea then resp depression, pulm edema, GI sxs, metabolic acidosis, renal failure
What must you worry about when infusing sodium nitroprusside?
Cyanide accumulation
How do you treat cyanide toxicity?
Sodium thiosulfate
