Tourism numbers vary from season to season as in summer it’s hot and the ideal place for a holiday, but there’s also a rainy season with lower temperatures which reduces the amount of tourists.
why does tourism varying cause a problem?
Tourism varying causes problems for the employees as they don’t have a consistent income and have to move back and forth between a summer job and a winter job and there’s no guarantee that they will be able to find a second job. This also causes problems for the employer as they have to find employees to fill the gaps of the employees that leave for their tourism jobs.
how could Tunisia reduce their dependency on tourism?
they could invest in other industries to make it a more attractive country, e.g. airports
