Boarder controls are more relaxed, making travel easier
Undesirable local environments and climates encourage people to seek the sun

Advertising and tv programs have made people more aware of things to see and do, giving them desire to experience different cultures and landscapes

Most appropriate model for LEDCs as in addition to creating wealth, it also focuses on minimum impact for local people and the environment
Involves visiting places to appreciate their scenery, wildlife and culture

Mountains, grassy planes, sandy beaches (Mombasa), coral reefs, and lots of wildlife - 50 national parks and reserves
Tourism revenue is important to the economy as it provides jobs and Mooney to repay foreign debt and improve local services and infrastructure

In the parks, the nomadic people (Massai), are denied access. Their culture is being lost and soil erosion and harassment is a serious problem due to minibuses going off road
