Topik 1 Flashcards
List the point of cell theory
1.All living things are composed one/ more cells
- Cells are the basic units of structure and function in an organism
- Cells come from reproductive of existing cells
Describe the function of plasma membrane
Control substances pass into or out of the cell- selectively permeable
What’s the components of plasma membrane?
Phospholipid, membrane protein, other materials
What’s the function of protein at plasma membranes?
Allow substances to cross membrane
What is cytoplasm?
Material outside nucleus and inside membrane plasma
What’s the components of cytoplasm?
Cytosol and organells
What is mitochondria?
Sites of mechanical reaction and have their own DNA
Describe smooth endoplasm and rough endoplasm
Smooth endoplasm- produce steroids (lipid), breakdown toxins in liver, breakdown and synthesis cholesterol
Rough endoplasm- have ribosomes to produce proteins
Describe ribosomes
Don’t have membrane, synthesis protein
The function of peroxisome
Detoxify harmful substances, breakdown reactive chemical
The function of cytoskeleton
Support structure of cell, participates in movement or organelles
The components of cytoskeleton
Microfilaments; threads of protein actin
Microtubules; larger hollow tubes
The function of nucleus?
Control center of the cell
What’s the contains of nucleus?
DNA, nucleolus (where ribosomes synthesized)
Describes 3 regions of nucleus
Nuclear membrane: barrier of nucleus, have nuclear pores- allow for exchange (cytoplasm=nucleus)
Nucleolus; contains one/more nucleoli , sites of ribosomes production
Chromatin; contains DNA/ protein, scattered throughout the nucleus
2 types of cell division
Mitosis and meiosis
Describe mitosis and meiosis
Mitosis; somatic cell, for growth or repair, diploid(46)
Meiosis; reproductive cell, haploid (23)
List the phase of cell division
Prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase
Classification of tissue
Epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, nervous tissue
Function of epithelial tissue
Protection, absorption, secretion, sensation
Function of connective tissue
Support and protect organ
Exp: bone adipose (flat), blood, cartilage
Function muscle tissue
Movement
Exp: skeletal, cardiac, smooth
Function nervous tissue
Communication, coordination of bodily function
