Advantages:
Requires fewer participants, and individual differences are no longer a potential confounding variable because they are constant across all conditions (the same individuals)

Error variance or “noise” attribute to individual differences is accounted for, it’s easier to detect treatment effects or differences between conditions
Because most within-subjects designs are longitudinal in nature, they have potential to run into the time related MRS SMITH threats to internal validity
