- Legislative power – European Parliament pass EU laws. - 2021- Digital Markets Act, - regulates digital platforms to prevent anti-competitive behavior in the digital market.
- budgetary power - €1.8 trillion euros for post-pandemic recovery proposed by EC
- Judicial power – European Court of Justice enforces EU law- Poland’s 2017 judicial reforms gave the government control over judges. In 2023, the ECJ ruled these reforms violated EU law.
