- Certainty leads to how likely the offender will be punished.
- Severity means how much pain is inflicted.
- Celerity how quickly punishment is inflicted.
What is utilitarianism?
Believes the use of punishment can aid the prevention of future crime and reduce the consequences of crime.
What is bounded rationality?
the ability to think and make decisions is constrained or limited such as time, cognitive limitations.
What is the difference between retributivism and utilitarianism?
- utilitarianism argues that a punishment is justified if it maximizes good consequences
- Retributivism argues that a punishment is justified if it corrects the wrongful act.
Define crime script?
A crime script is the steps taken of the processes offenders follow when committing a crime. Crime scripts helps to generate a understanding of the how the crimes occurs.

The severity of the crime demands an equal punishment .
