What did the German Labour Front (DAF) do?
It replaced all trade unions in 1933 and controlled workers rights and wages
What was the Volkswagen scheme?
It allowed people to subscribe five marks per week to buy their own car. No cars were delived due to production stopping during the war
What was the KdF?
It meant Strength through Joy; it improved leisure time of German workers by giving them reduced activities and holidays
What was the Beauty of Work scheme?
It tried to improve working conditions and add extra facilities to workplaces
How did the Nazis view of women differ from the progress in the 1920s?
The Nazis wanted women to stay at home, leave fashion and makeup behind them and take no interest in politics
How did the Nazis try to raise the birth rate?
They gave loans to people to start a family, they changed the divorce law so only those without children could divorce and they encouraged women to become pregnant with ‘racially pure’ SS men
