Stations of the Cross
A set of 14 images that that remind believers of Jesus’ final journey to the cross
Paschal Sacrifice
A term that refers to the Last Supper, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus
Tabernacle
The place in church where the consecrated hosts are kept
Denominations
Distinct groups within the Christina religion with their own organisation and traditions
Last Supper
The final meal that Jesus ate before he died which is the basis for Holy Communion
Atonement
The restoration of the relationship between God and the People through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus
Ascension
The event, 40 days after his resurrection, during which Jesus returned to God
Restoration
When things are brought back to how God intended them to be
Redemption
Making up for the wrongs done by humanity and bringing them back into their close relationship with God
Heavenly Banquet
A symbol of the unity and joy in the Kingdom of God that is pictured as everyone joined in one meal together
Atone
Making amends for something that has gone wrong
Morality
A system of ethics about what is right or wrong
Conscience
For Christians, the voice of God in the heart and soul of a person
Orthodox
A branch of Christianity mainly, but not entirely, practised in Eastern Europe
Iconostasis
The screen that divides the Holy part of an Orthodox Church from the congregation, it represents the meeting place and division between Heaven and Earth
