1933 took in all other youth organisations except catholic ones
By 1936 all other groups banned and became compulsory 6m members
However many managed to avoid it especially after 14 when many left school

Many teachers sympathised to nazi ideas
By 1936 30% had voluntarily joined the party

Objection to growing political and ideological bias of hitler youth led to growth
