Taxonomy
The science of grouping organisms according to their similarities in features
Species
Group of closely related organism that resemble each other more than members of other groups
Can produce fertile offspring
Evolution
The process that changes the fence pool of a species , in some cases separating gene pools into speperate species
Driven by increased chances of survival and adaptation
Habitat
An area or location where a species or community of species lives
ecological niches
The role a species plays in its habitat
Can only be occupied by a single species
Population
All the individuals of a single species that live in a particular area
Community of species
All the members of all the species that live in an area
Ecosystems
Combination of abiotic and biotic features of an area
Include species relationships
Relatively self contains
Biome
Large geographical region with specific climatic conditions within which a characteristic community of species lives
Biosphere
All of planet earth that is inhabited by living organisms including land surface,soil and water
