Q

What are phloem tubes

A
  1. Transport food substances made in leaves to the rest of plant for usage or storage.
  2. Made of elongated liiving cells with small pores in the end walls to allow cell sap to flow through
  3. the transport goes in both directions
  4. this process is called translocation

Q

What are Xylem tubes

A
  1. Made of dead cells joined end to end with no end walls between them and hole down the middle
  2. strengthened with a material called lignin
  3. They carry water and mineral ions from roots to stems and leaves
  4. They use transpiration
