What is Biosecurity
Biosecurity refers to measures aimed to prevent the introduction or spread of harmful organisms.
How can we play a part in Biosecurity?
- buying from reliable sources preferably locally
- inspecting new plants and quarantining if necessary
- make regular checks on plant health
- avoid wooden pallets or other wood packaging
What do businesses produce to specify their management of green waste or sourcing plants?

What are plant passports?
Plant passports show where a plant has been sourced, enabling traceability in the envent of a pest/disease outbreak.
What details are included in a plant passport?
A. Plant botanical name
B. Supplier registration number
C. Traceability code (batch code)
D/E. Country of origin
What is a Phytosanitary certificate?
Phytosanitary certificate is confirmation a plant has been inspected and found to be free of notifiable pests and diseases.
What must accompany plants to be exported?
