What was the Tudor legal system made up of?
national and local law courts with special courts to judge cases with no legal precedent or circumstances too difficult to judge.
What were the special courts?
The star chamber, Chancery (Lord Chancellors Court), Kings council.
How did Wolsey use the Star Chamber?
to try overly powerful nobles and illegal enclosure.
What were Franchises?
When the local lord had complete control over local law courts.
What was Star Chamber used for under Elizabeth?
to try cases of riot and abuses of judicial system conveniently.

What was the act of Union and when?
1536, brings welsh law in line with English law.
Why was the act of union necessary?
it gave people fewer opportunities to consolidate power in remote places in England.
