Q

Medical model Vs. Rehabilitative model

A

MM- top down, client is being diagnosed and treated. Orientated towards pathology, professional does something to client and assumes whats best for the client

RM- horizontal, working with client, orientated towards achieving effective communication where the clients’ well-being is optimized in their context. Understanding the client in their context by getting their perception of how their communication difficulty impacts their daily life. Clients’ perceptions and needs will determine the treatment goals
