Too/too much/too many Flashcards

1
Q

Too se usa con adjetivos y adverbios.
It is too ugly to put in my living room. – Es demasiado feo para ponerlo en mi salón. He is speaking too quickly. - Está hablando demasiado rápido.
También se construye con much + uncountable noun y con many + countable nouns: She put too much cream in the sauce. - Echó demasiada nata en la salsa.
There are too many puddles on the road. – Hay demasiados charcos en la carretera.

A

Hay que tener cuidado con no confundir very (muy) y so (tan) con too (demasiado). I like it too much, literalmente quiere decir ‘me gusta demasiado’.
Si hay un verbo después de estas estructuras hay que utilizar la preposición to que quiere decir ‘con el fin de o para’. Se suele cometer el error de utilizar for.

It’s too hot to go outside. - NOT It’s too hot for going outside.
