TOLD Flashcards
Rotation Speed
Speed at which aft stick is initiated
Takeoff Speed (TOS)
Speed at which main gear lift off the runway
Critical Field Length
Total runway length required to accelerate with BEO to CEFS experience an engine failure and either: accelerate to SETOS and takeoff or stop in the same distance
Refusal Speed
Max speed at which the aircraft is able to accelerate with BEO in MAX and abort with either BEO or EF
What are the assumptions with refusal speed?
3 second reaction time, after which the throttles are pulled to idle
Single Engine Takeoff Speed
Speed at which the aircraft is able to climb, once clear of ground effect with gear down and flaps 60%, at 100 FPM. Rotation is at SETOS and minimum SETOS is 2 engine takeoff speed
Critical Engine Failure Speed
Speed at which the aircraft accelerates with BEO, experiences an engine failure and permits either: acceleration to SETOS and takeoff or decelerate to a stop in the same distance
Landing Distance
Length of runway required to stop the aircraft based on full flaps
Decision Speed
Minimum speed at which the aircraft is able to experience an instantaneous engine failure and still accelerate to SETOS and takeoff in the remaining runway
