Flight Controls Flashcards
How are flight controls powered?
Hydraulically and artificial feel from bob weight and springs
What powers the Trim?
Right AC motor
How is runaway trim prevented?
by limit and cut out switches
How many degrees of rudder input with gear down and up?
Down: 30
Up: 6
What powers the rudder trim and how many degrees?
Left AC, 2 deg
What must be on for rudder to trim?
Yaw damper
What does SAS do?
uses utility hydraulic pressure to reduce yaw oscillations
What does SAS require to operate?
L/R AC and R DC, MDP, EGI, and ADC
What holds the SAS on?
Left AC power
When does SAS disengage?
ICAO data is transferred or AC power failure
How are the flaps powered?
Motors: Right AC
Lever: Left DC
Indicator: Right DC
When do you get a Flap indicator in Hud/MFD?
Airspeed within 10 knots or exceeding airspeed limit
How do aux flaps work?
Up moves them up
60% stops movement
100% moves them down
What does the flap slab interconnect do?
Slab automatically moves to eliminate pitch changes by flap movement
Most compensation is in first 35% of deflection
How is the speed brake powered?
Left DC and utility hydro
